PADMASHAKTI
Padmashakti (meaning “girl power” in Hindi, पद्म शक्ति) is a non-profit organization that supports women from highly vulnerable backgrounds through hands-on training to work at cafes and bakeries.
THE CONCEPT
It was imperative to generate a culturally relevant identity representing powerful femininity. In Indian cultures, the lotus is a symbol of purity and growth - a blossom found in muddy waters, it epitomizes beauty in the face of adversity. The ‘trishul’ which is a symbolic weapon of the Hindu Goddess Durga symbolizes strength, liberation and creation. As each of these elements comes together, the resulting iconography sends a powerful message of empowerment, resilience, and resurrection.
